Location: Raleigh, NC
Size: 118,000 sf office building; 300-car parking deck
Year Completed:

3800 Glenwood was designed to complement adjacent 3700 Glenwood, also designed by Duda Paine, at the entrance to the developing live/work/play campus called Glenwood Place.  The five story office building is artfully clad with brick, aluminum, metal panel and curtain wall and features projected towers at each end.

The parking deck was placed immediately adjacent to the building with elevator and stair directly across from the lobby with a covered walkway in between.  Indoors and outdoors overlap at the north end of the building where a setback retail space opens up from beneath the building and a cantilevered canopy to hardscape and landscape that connect to the community beyond.

The building is framed with structural steel founded on spread footings.  Lateral forces are resisted by vertical braced frames located within the building core.  The parking deck is framed with precast concrete founded on spread footings.  One level of parking was built below grade with cast-in-place concrete foundation walls.  The precast concrete contractor was on-boarded early in the design process to partner with LHC and Duda Paine for a simplified and coordinated design
