The original Orange County Courthouse, built in 1952, has expanded with a 40,227 square foot addition. The expansion aims to preserve the historic value of the original courthouse while adding much needed modern amenities. The construction of this three-story expansion utilizes structural steel framing on concrete spread footings. The exterior of the addition blends with the historic style of shingled rooks and brick walls with punched windows found on the original Courthouse. The addition also features a fa├žade of dramatic curved glazed wall and a metal roof colonnade.
