The Chapel Hill Town Operations Center relocates and consolidates the Transportation and Public Works Departments on an 88-acre campus. The 155,000-sf complex consists of four main buildings and eight outbuildings housing the Public Works Administration, Field Operations, Fleet Maintenance Divisions and the Transportation Administration, Operations and Bus Maintenance Divisions. The design aesthetic of the complex is reminiscent of agricultural and industrial facilities around the region. A variety of sustainable features was implemented to conserve resources, reduce energy usage and protect the environment
