INMAN ADMISSIONS WELCOME CENTER
RICHARD W. SANKEY HALL
LaROSE STUDENT COMMONS

Elon University

Location: Elon, NC
Budget:
$16 million
Size: 30,000 sf (Inman); 30,000 sf (Sankey Hall); 10,000 (LaRose Commons)
Year Completed: 2015 to 2019

LHC partnered with RAMSA and CRA to design three new buildings on Elon’s campus.

The 30,000-square-foot Inman Admissions Welcome Center revitalized Elon’s admissions and campus visit operations. The building includes a large, two-story, a highly-ornate main lobby, several large meeting rooms, a 150-seat auditorium and office space that houses the university’s admissions, financial planning and student visitation facilities.

Richard W. Sankey Hall is a three story, 30,000 sf building houses new classrooms, office space, and teambuilding spaces that serves students in every major, school and college at Elon.  It features exposed building components, glass walls, and vertical writing surfaces.

The LaRose Student Commons located in Elon’s Historic Neighborhood is a two-story, 10,000 sf building designed to encourage community engagement from the students.  The building will integrate living and learning by providing a welcoming place for students.

All of the buildings were framed with structural steel and the lateral forces were resisted by vertical brace frames on shallow spread footings.
